Your diaper bag will become your best friend after your baby is born. This is where you'll store everything you could possibly need for your baby and it's available in a moment's notice. Learning how to find the right diaper bag for you isn't hard, it just takes a bit of research. Learn more about the types of diaper bags available.

Big or small?

The size does matter in this case. Ask yourself will you be going places for long periods of time? Like to day care or on over night trips, for example. Some people prefer to have one of each.

Back back or shoulder strap?

While most diaper bags come with a shoulder strap, more and more are coming in back pack form. This is great for hands free care of your baby.

Breast or bottle?

Breastfeeding will generally require less space because you won't need to store bottles, formula and the like. So some breastfeeding moms prefer a small bag, though this isn't always true. If dad or another care giver is using a bottle for some mommy-free time you may wish to think about bottle holders for that purpose.

Cloth or disposable?

This might not be something you thought about, however, cloth diapers will require more room in a diaper bag, both the clean and the dirty. Be sure to look for a large bag to store dirty diapers, or at least enough room to bring them home with you.

Gender Issues

Some men simply don't care, but others wouldn't be caught dead with anything that looked like a diaper bag. There are some newer models out that are less obvious. This also includes women who prefer the business or sportier look to their diaper bag. These new models are simply more stylish than their practical counterparts, but most are comparable in size and capacity.
